A Few Thoughts On.....

Updated: 13 hours ago

Times Like These

We are living through yet another chapter of market volatility. While the specifics may feel different this time—headlines, interest rates, geopolitical tensions—the underlying nature of markets remains the same: what rises can fall, and what falls can rise again.

Fear, when it takes hold, has a way of clouding not just our decision, but our memory. It makes us forget that every correction we’ve seen—whether it was the S&P in the 1950s or the Dow in the early 1900s—has, without exception, been temporary. To believe otherwise would be to bet against every page of market history.

Ecclesiastes reminds us, “There is nothing new under the sun.” And when we step back, we realize: the patterns, the panic, even the recoveries—they’ve all happened before.

This is not to minimize what people are feeling, but to re-anchor us in truth. Our plans were not built for smooth sailing. They were built for seas like these. And we are not here to guess the storm’s end—but to remain steady until it passes.

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: We plan for this. Come what may.

Warmly,

Chris Doughty
